"People who see the big picture expand their experience because they expand their world. As a result, they accomplish more than narrow-minded people." - John C. Maxwell

We stopped at a chocolate factory in Interlaken, Switzerland. Of course I picked like 6 different flavors and ended up really only obsessing over the caramel filled one. Swiss chocolates are everything you'd imagine plus more. Do you see my cute nails? Can you believe they're press ons bitch! YES! For this trip I was like I don't feel like getting acrylics, I'm just going to get some press ons and call it a day. So every time I changed outfits, I changed my nails. Don't judge me, aesthetic. LMAO. How gorgeous is this scenery? This was the same day we rode the mountain coaster.

Right after taking this picture in the middle of Switzerland, my boyfriend attempted to teach me how to drive stick shift. First, we started driving on a military only road and had no idea until a military jeep came up to us and told us we couldn't be there. Then, we attempted again on a road where the were lots of cow and obviously for me, this was very difficult as I constantly get distracted by cute animals. I pushed through though and I actually did better than I thought I would. The first time he tried to teach me was in Iceland a few years back, at night time, in a slanted parking lot. That didn't go so well. lmao. Anyways, I'm excited to move back to NY only because of the in-between, semi-cool weather. You know there weather where it's not scorching hot and humid but also not freezing with snowfall. Photo Sep 27, 12 33 25 PM

“For changes to be of any true value, they’ve got to be lasting and consistent.” -Anthony Robbins

Oh hi thigh high boots. The Cut recently did an article with me featured in it including this look. This look is probably one of my favorites so far. I paired this belted shift dress with some knee high snake print boots and I'm getting a 60's 70's vibe from it. Oh, and this dress also comes in black. I'm excited for all the thigh high and knee high boots I'm going to be wearing this Fall. I should probably do a round up of my favorites for you guys.

"Do you love what you see when you look in the mirror? Because I bet that if you love it authentically, everybody else around you will. They won't even have a chance to see anything else, because you will have a shield of confidence around you." - Jada Pinkett Smith

Ahhhh this was on mine and Jr's 3rd year anniversary. We were in Italy drinking red wine (when I say we, I mean him) haha and just having dinner. We went and got gelatos and took a cute picture for the gram. I'm going to put out a vlog soon with our trip to Italy/Switzerland and in the video it shows how difficult it really is to eat those cone gelatos. I should've gotten mine in a cup and called it a day but noooo, I had to have one of these cute tourist pics.

Anyways, theese are my go-to pants when I want to look like I dressed up, but also don't want to wear jeans, but want to be comfortable like sweatpants except not as hot. I actually found them inside JCPenny in the Queens Mall one day when Jr and I were shopping with his mom. I found a link for them at Zappos, they're black taper zip pants. I'm wearing Nike prestos with an adidas top. I'm lawless.

"Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did." --Newt Gingrich

I've always been a huge fan of biker shorts. 1.) They're stylish but more importantly 2.) Comfortable and it feels like you're wearing nothing 3.) You never have to worry about your legs rubbing up against each other but still get to show them off. I wore these cute DimePiece biker shorts back in 2014 when they weren't as popular and people kind of made fun of me but ohhh well haha. You can check out that post here. Now they're somewhat cool and I'm all for it. Oh and also, Who What Wear featured me with this look on their site for Spring 2019 trends. So yeeeee!

I also never knew how much I needed a fanny pack. When we were in Switzerland, it literally held everything I needed (wallet, chapstick, handheld camera, JR's wallet, the keys). It's better than carrying a purse just because my hips are always carrying a lot of weight, so what's an extra pound or two? I'll do a round up soon with some of my favorite fanny packs which in the UK they call bum bags.

The biker shorts I'm wearing are from Pretty Little things and they come in a TON of colors. Their sizing goes up to a 12 so I found some similar plus size biker shorts from Torrid and some similar blue biker shorts ones from Charlotte Russe. Also, my new favorite around the way sneakers are these New Balances. They're SO comfy.

"Consistency is the fruit of the tree of success. The more you do something effectively and with a goal in mind, the better you will get at it and the more you will feel fulfilled." -Dan O'Brien

On the last day of our trip to Italy, we drove to Cinque Terre. Junior actually suggested this place. It wasn't even on my itinerary. I'm dumb, I know. haha I'm glad he had us stop because the view alone was STUNNING. Every corner you turned was picturesque. I wore this blue wrap dress, which to be honest, I don't even remember where I got it from because it's been hanging in my closet for 2 years without me touching it. I did gather a few of my favorite wrap dresses at the moment below. ASOS has a really cute plus size denim dress and PLT has this white wrap dress with red hearts printed all over it. I may get it now just to wear on Valentines Day. Every place I went in Italy and Switzerland, I ordered a desert because I'm on vacation and why not? I have to say that EVERY restaurant we went to, they had a chocolate cake with melted chocolate. I really appreciate how universal a chocolate lava cake is no matter where you travel.

“The road to power is in taking responsibility. Your heart, your life, and your happiness are your responsibility and your responsibility alone.” -Will Smith

A while back I saw Kourtney Kardashian wearing pants sort of like these that cut off around the ankle, fit nice around the hips, but then flare somewhat out and I was like yesssss girl! Although we have entirely different types, I know she's short like me and if I set my mind to it, could make it work. Anyways, I wore this look on our drive from Switzerland to Lake Como. For this trip, I literally packed only 3 pairs of shoes. I usually always bring my all white vans along with me just because they pair with everything so easily and also show off my ankles, which I love doing lol. I was taking a look at Target and saw they had the cutest plus size utility pants like I'm wearing but in a dark black finish. Do you see this pizza we ate? Phenomenal. Someone please take me back to Italy.

It's giving me Fall and lowkey Balmain vibes which I'm here for. The range goes from size 0 to 24! Have fun shopping. Oh also, everyone is asking about the heels...those are PLT too and you can click here to get them FISHNET HEELS!

IMG_5860 Okay so first let me say...I can't believe I did a Ted Talk. Around 19 years old I wanted to change my life around because I was leading a negative one. I'd watch Ted Talks and a lot of Tony Robbins and Will Smith speeches/interviews to give myself a different outlook on life. At the beginning of this year when TedxAthens reached out to me to speak on stage at their event, I teared up because I couldn't believe I'd now be up on a Tedx stage telling my story when my story included Tedx being such a inspiration to me when I was younger. I was all over the place with what I wanted to talk about. We did a few Skype calls and all was good to go. I got to Greece and did my first in person rehearsal on stage the day before the event. When I finished my rehearsal, the coaches asked me to change it. I had a powerpoint, I was prepped, all of that. I sat down with one of their coaches who literally was like "just tell your story you don't need anything else (including a powerpoint)." I was SO nervous because what I had been practicing for weeks was going to change less than 24 hours before me getting on stage in front of a full audience in a packed Opera house. I was shook.

I was literally sick. When I got back to my hotel that night I tried rehearsing and was freaking out to my best friend life "I'll never get another Ted Talk". I had so much anxiety that I couldn't eat and I was literally throwing up just because I was so nervous it was changed and I didn't want to mess it up.

The next day came. I went in hair and make up, then it was time for me to get my mic on. The coach was backstage telling me to stand up, take a deep breath, do the Superman pose so you can get some airflow because I was literally feeling like I couldn't breathe. I wasn't talking much so I'm sure she knew I was scared AF.

Now I will say, I can do interviews no problem because you're talking back and forth with someone who is asking you questions. I can do a panel, I've done many before where I'm on stage giving advice to people in the audience. But I had never been on a stage, where it's dead silent, everyone is staring at you, I don't have anything memorized, and no one interacts back with you.

I somehow manage to walk out, begin my story, and then all of a sudden my microphone fell off of my ear. Next thing I know, the Tedx sound people ran on stage to help me fix it. (They cut it out of the video uploaded) but the audience was SOOO nice omfg. They were clapping and laughing with me. I was telling jokes. They fixed it and then when they walked away, my mic fell off my ear AGAIN and so I'm like WAITTT COME BACK and extend my arm to them to come help. Then I tried to pick back up on my speech and got totally sidetracked by it so at one point I literally just put my hand on my hip and in my head I'm like I'm just about to tell all these people I forgot what I was saying lmao. I look back now and I'm super proud of myself for pushing through all of it.

There are so many details I left out of my story. More struggling, not being able to pay my bills, almost being evicted from my NY apartment, getting fired from ANOTHER job because I was pursuing my own path, being in a physically abusive relationship during the beginning parts of my career. I mean, the list can go on and on. Looking back, I can't tell you how I was able to come out of all of that.

I kept going back to when I was that 3-4 year old girl in the store who wouldn't give up on herself when it came to tying a clear plastic bag you put fruit in. I had everything I needed inside of me to accomplish anything I wanted to or be anything I wanted to be. That's what I wanted to get across in this Ted Talk even if my story was all over the place. I had gone through everything I had gone through. Being denied from a huge fashion school and then still pushing through to create my own clothing line, even if it took me 6 years. Paving my own way for my life. Focusing on the positive vs the negative. Choosing to adapt to my new circumstances every time something didn't go as I planned. Realizing the Universe was trying to show me signs and being able to acknowledge. Knowing when it's time for a change, even if that means I have to come out of my comfort zone and be uncomfortable.

As a kid I had a good stubbornness. I wouldn't give up on myself. No one could tell me anything. I wanted to prove people, including myself wrong. I never settled. THIS WAS A 4 YEAR OLD. I sat in the middle of that grocery store not caring if people were staring at me because I was determined to tie that bag. Guess what, I didn't give up and I completed it. I apply it to my life now. We all have in us already what we need and I think society, the media, life, bad experiences, just anything can happen where we doubt ourselves and give up or feel like giving up. All you need is YOURSELF and your THOUGHTS to change your outlook. WE all have inside of us what it takes to reach our full potential and I hope that my story, even though it was all over the place, could help you reach yours. Also, me clapping for myself at the end, I'm clearly my own cheerleader.

I didn't see myself as someone who was inspirational. I always felt mostly comfortable in my body. I mean, there were times where I would pick at myself, I'm sure we all do. When I first began blogging, I didn't see myself as different than everyone else 10 years ago but I guess I was. Not a lot of people saw themselves represented in the media, or on the internet. I just liked fashion and I would take pictures of myself and put them on the internet. I can't believe I was able to help inspire people to love themselves more and feel more confident. I hope I can continue to keep doing that. xx

I know I know. I'm suppose to be doing Fall transition looks but I technically just came from California and I'm still in Florida. It's 80 degrees outside so can you blame me? A while back I told my followers to reach out to me if they were a small business so I can feature a few of their items in my looks. Please look how cute this bag is. I got it from IamZani.com and honestly, the cutest little straw bag ever. Go check out here stuff HERE!

Ahhh October. I know my birthday is in September and I'm suppose to love my birth month more than anything else but October is my favorite. Probably because the weather starts slightly changing and all of the Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas stuff show up in stores. I start buying things I don't need like leaf shaped cookie cutters and reindeer stickers. A fun fact about todays date: my mom told me my original birth date was suppose to be October 2nd, which is why I felt like I should start coming here and blogging again because I missed it. October is such a great transitional period. It's the perfect time to wear Fall looks but also be half naked which is one of my favs clearly. JK...no I'm not kidding but for this look I actually kept the meat covered.
