Nadia Aboulhosn Calendar Pt. 2

Here are some of the first shots from my Nadia Aboulhosn Calendar which you can purchase HERE! The bathtub shot, which is my favorite from the calendar, may look glamorous but literally one of the most difficult to shoot. Alex, the photographer and great friend of mine, had to hover over me with his foot on the soap holder. haha. It was also a challenge to keep the flowers upright and keeping my make up in tact.

Photographer: Alex Vanderheyden | Make up: Ciara Ayako | Wearing: Taurus Rainbow Sheer Gown, SimplyBe Panties 80's Inspired - Since it's Selena's passing today, it was only right to post the Selena inspired look from my calendar. When I first started blogging, most of how I dressed was influenced from her. I'd always wear bustiers, red matte lips, and big hair. Over the years my style has evolved but I wanted to bring the old me back a little bit.

I got inspired to do a vintage look and paired it with ModCloth and Nastygal.

Monif C x Nadia Aboulhosn

Last month I was thrilled to shoot for Monif Clarke's swimwear line! The Sao Paulo collection is finally available on her website. There's even a short video of me swangin around what I wish was my actual hair. Although I love them all, I think my FAVORITE is the leopard print. Something about fringe this Summer makes me extremely happy. Check out all her designers at!

Thats That Nerve

"We have a culture of telling young boys not to love or express love to girls. All this effects how they treat women later on. Men are allowed only to show a limited scope of emotions. Fear, pain, hurt, sadness, even love at times falls outside realm of manhood. Expressing emotion doesn't make you feminine or less masculine. It's both and neither. It's human." -Zellie Imani

I don't think I'll ever step away from wearing grey, black, and white together. Addition Elle captured my heart with these jogger pants. The material is lightweight and the cuffed bottom looks really good with heels and flats. I want to keep white nails forever. I've never been too big on jewelry but I've been getting into wearing a lot of rings lately, especially if they're midis.

Nadia Aboulhosn Calendar

I'm thrilled to say my calendar is finally available! I have been working on it for 2 months now and although it was fun and all my creative juices were flowing, I'm happy to say it's a finished product. There is a little behind the scenes footage of the last month I did. It was so great working with everyone. I hope you guys love it. You can purchase my calendar HERE!

Next Level

"When you become the right person, what I mean by the right person is, once you identify who you are, you begin to separate yourself from the masses and thats when you begin to see your individuality. When you begin to see your talents, when you begin to see your personal skill. When you become the right person, what you do is you start separating yourself from other people, you begin to have a certain uniqueness. As long as you're following other people, as long as you're being a copy cat, you will never ever be the best copy cat in the world. But you will be the best you can be. I'm telling you to define your value. If you wanna make more money, if you wanna be more successful, if you wanna have and do stuff you have never done before, invest in you. Invest time in yourself. Some of you, you spend so much time with other people, you spend so much time trying to get people to like you, you spend so much time trying to fit in that you don't even know who you are. You know other people more than you know yourself. You study them, you know about them, you want to hang out like them, you want to be just like them. You've invested so much time in them that you don't know who you are. You've invested so much of your time in being liked by other people, being loved by other people, being appreciated by other people that you don't even know who you are. And I challenge you to invest time in your own self. I challenge you to get to a place where people don't even like you and don't even bother you anymore. Why? Cause you're not concerned with trying to make them happy because you're trying to blow up, you're trying to get to next level. They say "I don't like the fact that you do this." I don't care. I'm not living my life for you, I'm living my life for me." -Eric Thomas

All That Ruckus

So while I was in Los Angeles, my best friend Shevah interviewed me for She covers the fashion section for the blog. I'm never good with on camera interviews because I get nervous and shy (if that's even believable). I actually stopped taking interviews for a while because I was just exhausted and bored with the same questions I constantly get asked over and over. She's my best friend and I love her so of course I said I'd do this interview with her. I knew she'd end up asking random ass questions that are hilarious because we can never really be serious together. I speak fast so you'll probably have to watch this several times to understand what I'm saying, especially because we can't stop laughing. There's a brief part where I describe the difficulties of getting my legs and butt into my pants each day, especially in the Summer time. I also realized I don't know who Tom Brady is and really have no desire to. As soon as she said Tom, the first person I thought of was Tom Hardy, you know, the very very very incredibly attractive actor? I thought she just said his name incorrectly. You'll also learn that I can't wink and when I take blog pictures, the final images are better than the weird poses and dances I do when the cameras on me and I feel weird. Also, I'm the first person she interviewed so good luck to any one else she interviews because you can't top it. Check out the interview below and more questions at All-That-Ruckus.

Shades of Grey

“Home wasn't a set house, or a single town on a map. It was wherever the people who loved you were, whenever you were together. Not a place, but a moment, and then another, building on each other like bricks to create a solid shelter that you take with you for your entire life, wherever you may go.” ― Sarah Dessen

These are the first pictures I've taken in Los Angeles since I've worked with American Apparel back in 2011. I love the weather here. It surprisingly gets colder at night time then I remember. I went to the beach yesterday which was pretty nice but it doesn't beat the beaches in Florida. Those forever have my heart. Well I'm officially happy to be able to make my hair into a high bun. I've missed it for so long. I've been moving around a lot my whole life. First Florida, then New Jersey, then North Carolina, then back to Florida, and finally to New York. Nothing really felt like "home". When I wasn't doing fashion in Florida, I hated it. When I was away from my family, I hated it. I came to realize that the feeling of being home wasn't a set location, it's a feeling you have when you are doing what you love and have the people you love around you. I thought for a little while I wanted to move to LA but now that I'm here visiting, I don't really have the desire to. Changing location doesn't always make you happy. I think happiness for me would be able to still do my career in fashion while living close to my family, boyfriend, and best friend.

Lookin Ass

“If you can change the way people think. The way they see themselves. The way they see the world. If you do that, you can change the way people live their lives. That's the only lasting thing you can create.” — Chuck Palahniuk

I'm headed to Los Angeles March 12th and I'll be there for a week. I'm pretty excited to be able to wear what I want without having to check the weather to see how cold it is before stepping outside. As soon as it hit mid 50s out here in NY, I threw on my new pair of thigh highs with denim shorts. I guess I was preparing for my trip early. I love wearing simple outfits with a good pair of shoes. I keep wondering if I'll still want to wear thigh highs as much when the weather starts heating up? Probably yes.

Don't Know, Don't Care

"Having a positive attitude does not prevent you from having to face challenges. Positive thoughts, though, will help you cope with the challenges you face so you can take advantage of opportunities within them." -Byron Pulsifer

Nylon Magazine is hands down my favorite magazine. This Shop Nylon muscle "Don't Know, Don't Care" tee is basically my motto. The weather heated up last week here in NY so I was excited to finally wear the clear vinyl jacket I designed for Mynt. It's dope with this outfit because you can still see the worded tee through it. Also, my jacket is on sale now! Eeekk!

Oscar Night

“I want to define success by redefining it. For me it isn’t that solely mythical definition – glamour, allure, power of wealth, and the privilege from care. Any definition of success should be personal because it’s so transitory. It’s about shaping my own destiny.” -Anita Roddick

I finally announced today that I will be releasing a 2014/15 calendar I've been working on the past two months. I'll be dropping it mid-March and I'm excited for everyone to see the final product!
