Game Over

“A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a new action. If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided.” — Tony Robbins

This is my last post of 2013. Game over. It's been a great year. Thank you everyone for your continuous support. I can't wait to see what 2014 brings for me. I will say that I am launching a YouTube channel! You guys are more than welcome to subscribe now but nothing will be up until the 2nd week of January! xo

Two Ways to Style Plaid

There are times when I see a key piece of clothing that could be styled numerous ways. When I saw this oversized red flannel shirt, I knew I wanted to style it more than one way. I first layered the oversized shirt with a crop top and leather jacket. I have no problem wearing oversized shirts as dresses. That is exactly what I did for the second look.

Silver Lining

“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.” -Jim Rohn

I'm so pleased to say boohoo has officially launched plus size pieces. This is just a soft launch with a huge launch to come next March. I can't wait to see what else they will have available to come. I hope everyone has a great Christmas. I'm wishing I was with my family for the holidays. My parents were always the best gift givers. I still remember the Christmas of 2010 when my dad got me a fancy camera so I could really start blogging. I use to use a crappy digital camera and wanted better quality images. Each Christmas since we were little, my mom would get all of the kids a specific ornament to represent what happened that year. In 2009 I got in a really bad car accident where my car flipped 6 times and for that Christmas she got me a wrecked car ornament. haha. In 2011, my blog started getting noticed so she got me an ornament that said Fashion Blogger at the top with all the companies I modeled for and got featured in. My parents are the best.

Subjective Criticism

"You need to sacrifice almost everything to achieve your goal. So when people say you're lucky, they don't know what they're talking about. The people that say that, will never achieve their goal because luck has nothing to do with it. If I was that lucky, I wouldn't have failed so many times, I wouldn't have had so many sleepless nights. Perseverance is the key to success. Then when you succeed, people will try to justify to you in a very simple way why you succeeded. I will never let any person discourage me from my goals." -Josef Azam

I've been wanting some time to discuss "constructive criticism". You'll sometimes see me call it out on my twitter but never in blog posts. This post is probably the best outfit to speak on it considering this shift dress isn't too flattering for my body type by fashion magazine standards. People misjudge the use of the term constructive criticism to project their own negative opinions about something subjective. There are too many times people write comments on mine and other blogger's pages like "this outfit would look better if", "you should have wore something for your figure" or "this outfit doesn't flatter your body." Please understand that personal style blogs are exactly that. The style pertaining to the person's blog you are directly on. My blog is self-titled. No where on my blog or any other fashion blogger's page does it say we need your approval or advice on something we ALREADY wore. If a fashion blogger is asking advice on what he/she should be wearing, then they probably shouldn't be a fashion blogger. Bloggers have such a strong influence today, probably more than magazines do at this point. Just because you don't understand or like something, doesn't mean it's wrong.

I woke up like this. Flawless.

“There is no need to boast of your accomplishments and what you can do. A great man is known, he needs no introduction.” ― CherLisa Biles

Beyonce surprised us all with her visual album and inspired me to step my life up entirely another level. haha. It goes to show that you can be working without having to say you are. It also means I'm going to be quoting her songs as my subject titles for weeks to come. My aunt gave me this cashmere pashmina before I moved to NY two years ago and it's the first time I got around to wearing it. These plaid pants from F21 plus are everything.

"Everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear." -George Addair

I wore this beautiful pink coat and acid wash long sleeve dress from ASOS out this past weekend to furniture shop. My new apartment, for the most part, is fully furnished. I got a super comfy chocolate brown sectional and glass dinner table that seats four. I should take pictures one of these days when it's complete to show you guys.

I want it all and then some

“How would your life be different if you stopped worrying about things you can’t control and started focusing on the things you can? Let today be the day you free yourself from fruitless worry, seize the day and take effective action on things you can change. The reason many people in our society are miserable, sick, and highly stressed is because of an unhealthy attachment to things they have no control over.” ― Steve Maraboli

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” -Nelson Mandela

God Guap

"Your concepts of negative and positive may be someone's positive and negative. People tend to be generous when sharing their nonsense, fear, and ignorance. And while they seem quite eager to feed you their negativity, please remember that sometimes the diet we need to be on is a spiritual and emotional one. Be cautious with what you feed your mind and soul. Fuel yourself with positivity and let that fuel propel you into positive action." -Steve Maraboli

I can't stop myself from wearing knee high and thigh high boots this Winter. I don't always wear heels when I'm out running errands so I wanted to start doing more posts with my sneakers and boots. My new favorite hats are from GodxGuap. I got these 5 panel gems in wine, black, and camo.
