baby pumpkin.

"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment" -Ralph Waldo Emerson

I know it's a day early but I wanted to say Happy Halloween to everyone! Here's another baby picture of me. This is baby Nadia many many years ago for Halloween! haha! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! P.S. I want this dress I'm wearing in the picture, just in my size today. It's really an orange dress, the picture just makes it look pink! haha

the road less traveled.

"One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular" -Tony Robbins

I really really really live for fashion and love it unconditionally. I love when people pay attention to detail. I've had this floral top for some time but never got around to wearing it. With the shirt, at first glance your eyes are drawn to the cream color, then the pink, and then the green, mainly because the shirt consists of those three colors. But what I really wanted people to be drawn to, was the little bit of blue detail in some of the flowers. The best way for me to do that was to wear these cute light blue shorts with it. After pairing them together, now your eyes pick up the little big of light blue in the shirt. Love it. Paying attention to detail is a a must. By the way, the floral top is for sale on my vintage shop!

yellow diamonds in the light.

"Have faith in yourself. If you come up with a new idea that you believe in, don't allow other people to discourage you from pursuing it" -Charles Lazarus

I have finally opened up my online VINTAGE SHOP! To visit it, you can click the link on the left side of my page that says Shop Nadia Aboulhosn. AHHH! It's been so hectic rummaging through all my stuff and deciding what I need to get rid of. I'm such a fashion hoarder! haha! This yellow cardigan and these gray trousers are up for sale on my shop, along with a few other things. I'll constantly be updating it so keep an eye open! I want to say thank you to Jamie of beauty and le chic for this super cute yellow ring she made me a while back! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

pretty woman.

"In fashion, you know you have succeeded when there is an element of upset"

I had to share the inspiration behind this outfit. I get a lot of questions on where and how I get inspired. It's pretty difficult explaining all the ways I get inspired and how complex my mind is! So here's the story. As you guys know, I'm pretty much all over the internet. Someone saw pictures of me and stated my style is 90's street meets hooker, that I look like an extra from Pretty Woman. Well, most people probably would have been hurt by this comment, but the first thing I thought of was "if only this chick knew she's giving me a compliment." haha. I love the late 80's and early 90's. Pretty Woman is one of my favorite movies, and I always walk around singing Government Hooker by Gaga. So me being the person I am, always turning a negative situation into a positive one, I got extra inspired. Most people don't know that when I pick out my outfits, I always put music on. So this time, I put on Government Hooker by Lady Gaga, stood in front of my racks of clothes, and came up with the best ever, Pretty Woman street early 90's hooker outfit! It's one of my favorite outfits yet!

"Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm" -Winston Churchill

While in New York, I had the pleasure of working with Ashley Stewart. For Ashley Stewart's 20th Anniversary, myself, along with two other fashion bloggers, styled various looks that represent our own individual styles. I had such a good time and loved working with everyone. I'll have more pictures and videos from the day of the shoot up in a few weeks! You guys can shop my styles and picks on Ashley Stewart's site HERE! The first picture is my three styles and the second picture is showing all three bloggers. Thank you once again to Ashley Stewart!

what dreams may come.

“To dream anything that you want to dream. That's the beauty of the human mind. To do anything that you want to do. That is the strength of the human will. To trust yourself to test your limits. That is the courage to succeed” -Bernard Edmonds

Last August, I flew to New York to do a small photoshoot with Seventeen Magazine for their November 2011 issue that's now out in stands. When I first started blogging, if someone were to have told me my face was going to be in a magazine, I'm not sure I would have believed them. Work hard, follow your dreams, and you'll get there. Thank you to everyone at Seventeen Magazine =]

mean walk.

"If you have revolutionary potential, no matter who you are, it's your moral obligation to try to make the world a better place" -Lady Gaga

Yes, I wear underwear as clothing, and blouses as dresses. This by far has to be one of my favorite outfits that I threw together. Considering it's fall for the rest of the world besides Florida, I had to throw this color combination together. I love maroon and this deep forest green together. I cut the gloves myself, they use to be all the way to the wrists but didn't like them that way. My sister Alya Aboulhosn did my hair (shes a hair stylist). What better way to make a statement than with giant hair? By the way, it took about 45 minutes in the shower to get my hair back to normal haha.

the heart has no face.

"90 to 95 percent of people will withdraw to the comfort zone when what they try doesn't work. Only that small percentage, will continually improve themselves; they will continually push themselves out into the zone of discomfort, and these are always the highest performers in every field" -Brian Tracy

I feel like this quote describes me exactly. That is why I do these quotes to begin with, to give you guys a better idea of me, and to inspire you as well. Comfort zones have been heavy on my mind lately. How we get so comfortable with something and are content with where were at and often fear what it would be like out of that zone. That same fear is what limits you to new opportunities. If we all stay where it's comfortable for us, how can we ever grow? I can't explain to you how many days I wanted to stay inside and cuddle up in a blanket and just spend time alone, but I always force myself to get up and get to work. Im a business woman before everything. Sometimes it's best to put your emotions to the side and think intellectually. People ask how I successfully came so far...that would be your answer my loves.

observant october.

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle” -Steve Jobs

Browns, browns, browns. I love them, and now that fall is here (well not really in Florida) but I felt it was appropriate. Brown from my heels all the way to the different hues in my hair. I feel like I keep talking about NY in every post but I have to say I kept pretty busy up there. On my last final days before I flew back to Florida, I met with Jennifer Rocha who also has her own blog called Societys Misfit to do a few pictures for her column in the fashion section of NJ.COM! Everyone can check out my feature on NJ.COM HERE!

"Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say and not giving a damn"

I'm finally back in Florida! It feels so good to be back with my family, in my fashion dungeon, and not hauling my luggage around to different houses in the New Jersey/New York area. I have got to say that I did accomplish A LOT of things while being there. I decided to straighten my hair for this blog post, something I never really do. I received this PHENOMENAL salon grade hair straightener from MISIKKO.COM! The HANA Titanium 1.5" Flat Iron has salon quality have no idea! My sister is a hair stylist so her and I are extra picky when it comes to products but we were both super impressed with its high quality! You guys can see for yourself in the pictures how shiny and straight my hair looks.
